Ira Ray "Red" Gill, owner
and head porkologist of River City Spice Company and the Razorback
Cookers Catering has been barbecuing all his life. Red’s barbecue
heritage began in 1810 with his Great Grandfather William Thomas
Gill, Red combined the family’ s secret recipe with some secrets
of his own and has won barbecue contests worldwide.
In 1986 Red began marketing the Gill family barbecue spices and
sauces in mild, hot, dry, and spicy versions through his River
City Spice Company under the Razorback Bar-B-Q label. River City
Spice also bottles sauce for several other companies.
